Does anybody play games online? I play counter-strike. I have GF 3 VGA and my refresh rate is at 70 fps. Anybody know how I can improve my fps?

Hey man,

I play CS too. What servers do you like to play on? I will look into your refresh rate problem. My little brother is good at that kind of stuff.

If you are not familiar with our server (well not mine, but I hang out there and made their website), check out... www.clanaddiction.com (http://www.clanaddiction.com).

Its fairly good competition and the Admins don't mess around.

My handle is: JackRabbit $lim

Lates.

Man all of my peeps are losers....I haven't been able to figure it out other than to modify the config file to 'accept' a better fps. I don't know what that will do and I'm sure the ping and stuff have something to do with that as well.

I will keep digging some.

Oh yeah...and what happened to that know it all guy? I'm out for a bit and miss all of the fun.

Basically it's piece of software that you would install because you think it has some nifty function. Once installed this software not only allows you to do what it said it would but it also sits on your computer and collects information about you and your surfing habits. Things like, the websites you visit who you email and basically almost anything you do on your computer.

They are basically information gathering programs which you never intended to install on your system but did so to get the "Nifty Function" that was advertised.

Does this make any sense at all?

Lightwav,

Yes, thanks for the information. :) I have another question: do you know where I could get a FLATOP computer?

Thanks,
LC

I don't know what a "Flatop" computer is, sorry.

If you can give me more details I will see how I can help

A flatop computer is a compact type computer, it's all in one piece, and it saves A LOT of space. I did find a site today, the one that makes it called ATEC, but it doesn't say where you can buy one. Right now I have a home made computer (my friends husband built it) and I am thinking about buying a new one. Mine is so old!

Thanks!

One thing you can do is in your CS console type fps_max 100 also in your graphics card settings turn off Vertical sync. If you can find your graphics card driver, replace the default half-life/steam open gl driver with it. Oh, and for that matter use open GL, it works better for CS than direct 3D. Hmmm, also check the refresh rate your monitor is set too, if its set at 70, then your fps will never go above that. I use 85 and it works very well for me.
