What are you all doing for Christmas?

I'm on vacation starting the 19th and I'm planning to spend alot of the time enjoying the company of family and friends. Of course, I'll find some time to log on to this site and put in my two cents worth.

are u going to the wagon? i bet most of the out of towners will end up there.although there is not as many visitors in ep as there is during thanksgiving.

Oh yeah, I'll be going to the Wagon and 2K. but your right, we dont get as many out-of-towners as we do for Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the greetings. Same good wishes to you all. At this time my mother in law and I are rushing to refinish my kitchen cabinets and repaint the kitchen - living room area for the holidays. I am planning a get together with friends and my husbands side of the family for Christmas.

I will be arriving in EP on the 26th - what and where is "the Wagon"?

The Wagon Wheel is a western style bar . Its on Hwy 277 north (going towards Del Rio on the outskirts of EP). They play all kinds of music and they also serve BBQ.

I will be arriving in EP on Christmas Day, eventhough I was there for the Thanksgiving weekend. I will be spending the holiday with my family.

While my visit to Eagle Pass I notice couple of police cars stopping people left and right on the new 3 way stop on Eidson Road. This police cars were hiden behind a church. I was wondering what the h--- was going on. Were they trying to make easy money before the year was out? I notice that they did this since Dec 26-28 it was late about 9 pm.
There was another police car by passing my family's home when I was pulling out of the driveway when a p car made a illegal u turn and almost hit me. Not only that but driving half a block he made another illegal u turn and didn't even stop at a stop sign. What is wrong with the Eagle Pass Police Department?
They are hiring too many young inexperienced kids. I feel they need to hire graduates from other academies besides the one in Uvalde. I feel that academy is not challenging unless you want to be a mall security. I won't be surprise if there won't be anymore tourists going by. Hope Chamber of Commerce do something about it too because it can affect them too.
Of course we all know it's illegal to pop firecrackers and the media reminds us. I don't understand how Serrano wants to be elected for sheriff when he can't even enforce the law because his family was out popping them in the street on New Years. I know because I passed by and saw them for myself. I feel this is why EP is the way it is because the people that run it don't know c---.

It is pretty sad to hear law enforcement is not following the rules like they should apparently they need a new chief.

For Serrano..what a shame. Not even in office and can't get his own family to obey the law.

I spent New Years eve in San Antonio for the first time. I thought that they would enforce the "no fireworks in the city limit" law, but, NOT! It seemed like everyone was out in the streets lighting up bottle rockets and stuff. Its impossible to stop, unless you have police car in every corner. And who cares anyway. I for one, enjoy lighting up a few black cats myself.

Don't get me wrong, we all enjoy popping firecrackers. But if you are running for office as least try to do something right. Then again that's EP for you.
Of course it is impossible to try and catch everyone popping them especially in San Antonio. One thing I can tell you if that the SAPD academy is one of the best. "I Back the Blues"

Hope everyone had a good xmas and new year... as for the fireworks.. I enjoy a pretty colorful view, no doubt about that... If im not mistaken, I had hear of a family dying in piedras due to fireworks? not sure on that, but thats what i had heard and if so, bless their family for their loss. I do think fireworks should be outside city limits, but thats just my opinion, just to avoid tragedies like that.

And once again, the question rises... Does anyone know if the clubs in mex are closing at 2am from now on. or they are temporary..?

Rene, I think that they are supposed to close at 2:00 A.M. I heard Mario's has been closing at 3:00, but I also heard they are getting a lot of attention from the newspaper so it probably won't last. The only "other clubs" open past 2:00 A.M. ...well I'll leave that to your imagination.

Here we are Christmas season again. I dusted off the topic to bring it back to life :) . Now, that I did that, I want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Christmas. May you eat lots of tamales :D .

I will be headed to EP next week to spend Christmas with my family. I am looking forward to it and I am also looking forward to meeting all of you at the get together. :D

I am currently on the way north to Oklahoma and at a friend's in Austin for a day or so. :D I hate to miss the EP get together but I know you all understand the need to see the family. :D hope you all have a great holiday season and eat a few tamalis for me. :D

Family is great. My youngest sibling and I are having movie marathon. chuckles. He will be a senior next year so saving up all the quality time while I still can. Huggles to you all. :D

aww rats. I am currently "watching" the youngest sibling play some kind of video game (watching is a bit debatable since I am typing here lol). Still hoping for more snow so I can make a snow angel or snowman. :D

There is enough snow here for a snow angel and we might have enough for a snowman but, the wind is so strong I don't want to go out just yet. It makes it feel even colder.
