She's not the second, nor will she be the last. Every emotion becomes intensified to the power of ten. Men do it too but in a weird twist, they don't admit that they were unsuccessful.

Men are less likely to be unsuccessful. Researchers say that when men do it, they're more prone to use weapons like guns, jump off a building, or hang themselves. Women slit their wrists, try to overdose, or try to crash their car so they're more likey to be rescued.

Or as was my case do two of the above and then swing from revolving objects. I can laugh at my actions and at myself now but the road back from desperation was a long, mostly uphill climb. Like alcoholics would say about their years sober, I am 12 years alive.

I dont regret what I did. If anything, I'm glad I did it! It changed me COMPLETELY as a person. I found God, I found ambition, and I learned so much. I found out who really cared about me and I have kept them close. God and my family have become a bigger part in my life.
I guess you could say it took a nudge from death to show me how to live.

I'm happy for you. I certainly don't regret it either and as I've said before, I wear the badge of age with pride because 12 years is 12 years!

Like I said She is the second on this website and that's why I thought it was a rare coincidence for such a small site. Hope never to experience something like that.

Sorry Flash, didn't mean to ruffle your feathers.:o My bad. If she's the second, does that make me the third or the first?
For your sake I do hope you never experience anything remotely similar.

I was counting u allready, but there may be more out there I didn't know attempts were that common, a few weeks or somthing like that a teenage male committed suicide here in EP, so I'm thinking wow this is too many, probably more out there that we don't know about because it's not advertised.

I just about hit that bottom 15yrs ago. It was more of a cry of "someone help me." I had been sober for about 5 years. I quit drinking cuz I had one foot in prison doing 7yrs probation and had lost my family. I was 33, no job, no future, It seemed. Then I met a hot little 19yr. old babe. She drank, and after 5 yrs sober, so did I. Along with coke and pills to bring me down. I woke up and thought, what a waste. I slit my wrist, but nowhere deep enough.
Now with this new depressing period of my life, I bought a motorcycle and turned into a horn dog. And I remember, there is a time to laugh, and a time to cry. Blue skies will return with time. I hope you are feeling better. Fart, it will make you feel better.

I don't know much about odds but the number is high considering the fact that in 2005 there were approximately 550,000 reported suicide attempts. Think of the ones that weren't. It is the 8th leading cause of death for men. The statistics are mind boggling.

No comadre, it kicked me in the butt again. Not only that but I have been checking my bp and it is not doing very well. But over all, I'm having some of the best days of my life. Work if not only fun but also interesting. No shortage of women friends, except when one shows up at my door with another there. And I have a bunch of new friends who play music and I'm learning. I plan to see the Dr. tomorrow. With all the cigs, beer and viejas, I don't want to get a heart attack.

menners, yours was to stop eating out so much. But I guess for it to have been a New Years Resolution, it must mean alot to you. So, we have to try again. And of course I have raincoats. But once it starts to drizzle, it feels to good to put it on. I don't remember it till I look like a drowned cat with a big ol smile.

Just keep in mind that for one good night you can have a painful lifetime.

I have cut down on my eating out but, we still spend a lot. There is an asian word that I can't think of but, it means bankruptcy by eating out.

I misspelled the name Razzoo's it's with a double z. I don't know what to tell you about them. I am not much of an exotic food eater but, those things were good. It is an appetizer, it's like a nugget size. It is also fried and I can eat a fried rock if you gave me one...lol..some people say it tastes like chicken but, I don't think so. It is not fishy tasting either. It has been a long while since I've had them. Razzoo's is more of a cajun place so the spicy stuff gives me headaches. From my own diagnosis I am allergic to spicy.

I'm prone to migraines and 90% of them are related to food allergies so I know where you're coming from. Maybe I should give them a try. They sound good!

It was okay any meat tastes good when it's made into sausage. Actually they gave it to you on a stick like a popcicle right there at the open market. What was interesting all the Spanish surnames in New Orleans I guess goes back to when they were a territory of Spain, blue eyed, fair skined but could not speak the mother tongue (Castillian).
