This news made national headlines both in Mexico and the U.S. President Vincente Mexico came to Piedras Negras.

Alacran,
I am so glad you opened up this topic to keep the rest of us informed. Is Eagle Pass organizing some kind of help effort? Is the Red Cross involved?
Keep us posted,
LC

Yes Eagle Pass already donated some stuff through the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce. But additional help is needed from big cities like Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, etc. I know that in San Antonio they are organizing something at the Randy's Ballroom. Your help is really needed.

News from San Antonio re: help:
In yesterday's paper there was some new information. Bertha Salinas is one of the partners in a non-profit organization called Amigos De Coahuila that provides aid to families in Coahuila, esp. with children who have disabilities. They are organizing an effort to help the flood victims.
Cash Donations: Frost Bank Acct. #015837553
Food/Clothing/Items: 1010 W. Ashby, San Antonio TX (210) 734-9593
We are also getting lots of slide shows re: the flood; also, controversy looming re: were the people warned in time, etc.
I have not heard anything about the Randy's Ballroom event.
