I am just saying what everyone else is thinking. Anyone can come on the forum and post that a "Ross is Coming to town. I don't know if you read my topic I started about IHOP coming to EP? Well in the topic and post I provide a web site link to the IHOP Company stating that yes in fact they will be building a IHOP In EP. I like to back up my stuff I don't like being part of a rumor that is being spread around.

Well Denim & Diamonds is the name to the Night Club. An yes it is a big hit in Del Rio yet I have never been there but just one look at the parking lot of the nightclub and you can tell it is a big hit.

As for Doc's on Gibbs the place was shut down. An from the looks of it, it will stay that way.

I hear EP is getting a New Movie Theater if it has not been built already? It might be worth going to EP and checking it out when I go. Yet accourse if it is Bigger then the one in Del Rio They have Cinamark Movies 8. Yet who know's I might still go just to look at the place and see what all the fuss is about. :lol:

like i said,,, ep is full of rumors.. cuz word has been around for yrs now that ep was getting a chingon movie theater and to this date one has not been built. so who knows.

i dont frequent ram country.. but i go there on occasion. i like to go to the presa. is kmart still alive and kickin'?

Well I see it's been a very long time since you came to Del Rio Eagle4ever. Well let me get you up to date and mena as well. K-Mart closed over a year ago they closed all K-Mart stores in Texas so you can't go anywhere in Texas and Find a K-Mart. The company was going bankrupt it was on the News and everything. Well anyways. Now JCPenny is building a new Store to replace where the old K-Mart used to be in fact the New JCPenny would open in August it will be twice the size of the old JCPenny we have right now. Now the Mall is working with 2 national chain Merchants to replace the JCPenny in its old Location.

Now here is some more info about Del Rio since it seems you have not been to Del Rio in a very long time.

Del Rio now has the Following or is getting the Following:

1 New IBC Bank (Not including the one in Wal-Mart Super center)
2 New Subways
1 New IHOP
3 McDonald’s (One which is in the Wal-Mart Super center)
2 Radio Shacks (1 is in the Mall and the other will be behind Chili’s in Plaza Del Rio
2 EB Games
1 Cato Store (Clothing for Plus Size Women)
1 Citi Financial
1 New Funeral Home
2 New Medical Buildings
1 New Hardware Store (Sutherlands)
1 New Jewelry Store
1 Large Addition to the Federal Courthouse in Downtown
1 New Domino's Building
1 New Papa John's
1 Blimpie's


Now since EP likes Rumors word around Del Rio has it that they are building a Denny's and a Ross :lol: An People in town are so eager in Getting a Target.

An not to Mention North Del Rio is booming with New Home's that are being built in the New Sub Divisions

i liked kmart but i think walmart is cheaper. now target has cute stuff, not too crowded,cool in the summer, BUT...its more expensive than walmart. how 'bout a cyber cafe in ep? a place where u can either take ur laptop or use one of the pc's there while u sipped on capuccino. u all think that would hit in eagle pass?

You're right about Kmart and Walmart, Eagle. Although Kmart use to sell Similac (baby formula) alot cheaper than Walmart.
I agree, Target is alot more expensive but, they have better clearance prices than walmart. Is Target and Mervyn's the same corporation? I think someone told me that.

K-Mart was a nice store not as cheap as Wal-Mart yet they did have some iteams cheaper then Wal-Mart. Target is way more expensive then Wal-Mart yet I think people like the store because they sell some really nice stuff from clothing to stuff for your home and Wal-Mart does the same but they don't have the same style as Target does.

Ross is definitely coming to Eagle Pass and I think it will be in the old Weiner's location. About the movie theather, I dont it will happen because it has taken alot of time and the sign that says Movie Theater Coming Soon is already broken. What I do know is that the EPISD wants to pass bonds to construct a big stadium (like Alamo Stadium ) and several elementary schools. One in the area of WINN CITY (a future suburb of Eagle Pass).


Eagletx21, Eagle Pass will be the regional headquaters of IBC Bank. The bank being build in front of the lake.

An another thing In Del Rio they just passed a School Bond of 34.2 Million.

I think it is a good idea. Now the Bond that recently passed in Del Rio was for 34.2 Million in which the state will pay 75% and the Tax Payers in Del Rio will pay 25%.

Another thing is when was the last time EP had a Bond? If it was recently it will be hard to convince the people to vote yes on another bond. That is what happened in Del Rio the last bond was passed in 2000 and now again in 2004 some people that was too soon.

Yet I will say Bonds are good for the Community.

I don't pay property taxes just yet. :D

But the taxes where raised a little bit nothing to high acourse. If your house is worth 40,000 you will pay 13.52 more in taxes. If your home was 120,000 you will pay $61.92. Nothing too high as you can see.

They are using that money to build a New Elementry and to Remodel another school completly and the rest will be used to Add on to schools that exist already or just to do touch ups and stuff and bring them all up to code.

With the last bond they did a lot including Building a New 7th and 8th grade school. Its a very large school bigger then the High School lol. Yet Del Rio needs a new High School but will cost around 45 Million to build. Yet oh well I guess they will have to ask for anothe bond as well for that project.
