you can make a protein shake with one scoop of the protein powder, I use 2% lowfat milk or lowfat soy milk and some ice cubes in the blender and it doesnt taste bad. I use the "ON" 100% instantized Whey Gold Standard powder, they have different flavors. 24grams of protein per serving!
Thanks for the tip. I use the vanilla flavor but, I just add a teaspoon or so because I didn't know better. I will try 1 scoop next time with the skim milk. I know protein foods kill the hunger for a long while. I am hoping the shakes will do the same. Do they since they are protein? or is it different?

the actual meat protein does kill the hunger but not so much the shakes, they are more of a dietary supplement.

According to the US Department of Agriculture a woman needs about 1g. of protein for every kilogram she weighs. A 132 lb. woman would need about 30g of protein. In addition to the shakes, meat, nuts, and eggs are also good sources of protein. A good site to visit is mypyramid.gov. There is a very good section on women's nutrition and weight management.
I made a shake earlier before walking to my daughters school and it was good.
Blueberries protein shake
1 cup of 2% milk
1 vanilla yogurt
1/4 cup of frozen blueberries
1/2 scoop of vanilla whey protein
I threw it in the bullet blender and it was really good.

I tried this smoothie and it was delicious. Even the little one liked it!
I am glad to hear. My kids love it too. I just omit the protein part cause I don't know if it is ok for them to drink. I will ask the ped. next time.
