View Full Version : Please God, Tell Me There's Shushi!
I love this town and I love Mexican food. But I also crave diversity, so the dearth of variety in our food is gonna kill me. It won't be easy for me to get to San Antonio while I'm here this summer so I'm hoping someone can confirm the rumor that there is a Japanese place in PN. Not Chinese please!
I got used to eating sushi and shashimi at least once a week and I'm already getting the shakes. Any info?
How about Del Rio? Or even SA if you know a good shushi place.

NYC, Their is a place in Del Rio that is fairly new just opened a couple of months ago. I recently went and the food was great! Everything was fresh and full of flavor and didn't taste like it had been microwaved and sat underneath a heat lamp all day. There were over 15 types of meat and tons of vegetable choices to choose from, and that doesn't even include their Sushi and salad bar which is included in the buffet. (Some choices included: boneless ribs, oysters on the half shell, shrimp, lo mein, fried rice, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and baked fish) They even had pizza and nuggets for the kids who are picky eaters. To end it all they had a nice choice of cake as well as a self-serve ice cream bar with 8 different types of ice cream in barrels (like you would find at a real ice cream place, not those stupid soft-serve machines).

I'll answer my own question after some investigation. There are two places in Piedras that serve shushi. One place is called Ikana and its located on Tepic and the other place is called Tensai which is on the same road as the Plaza de Toros but closer to the Ford dealership.
I also tried Barroka's...very nice in terms of decor...food was quite good (less greasy than regular Tex-Mex). Great place to take picky eaters since they have an expansive menu.
