WWII Army Air Corps Base

I was born at the base in 1943. I'm considering writing a book and would appreciate some help researching some details about the base and my date of birth. I'm a former history teacher and this could be used as a high school history class project. Also, senior citizens may want to share memories with me. My parents are still living and have told me stories about my birth. These stories say that the base medical facility was not prepared for deliveries, therefore, I may be one of the few people born on the base during the war years. A civilian doctor named Montemayor performed the delivery. Thank you for this opportunity.

Thank you, Mena, for the interesting reference. Is there a local newspaper that might have files where I could find the local news and weather for April, 1943?

Hello again

The local paper is the Eagle Pass News Guide(830) 773-2299. The public library might have the information too 830-773-2516. I found the numbers on the net so I don't know if they are current. I know longer live in Eagle Pass otherwise I would check that out. Also, the newsguide doesn't have a website that I know of.

Thanks, twice, Mena. I'll give those a try. The web site with the photos and maps was very interesting. I have only been back to Eagle Pass once or twice and my memory of the base was very limited. The photos and maps gave me a better view than being there on the ground.
