Has anyone been to Ricks burgers on Eidson Rd? I went there for a burger when I drove in from Dallas and it was delicious.

I've been wanting to go there but just haven't done it. It's on my "things to do" list before this year is over. How good were the fries? or did you get chips?

mena
12-02-2003, 02:47 PM
It is like a hotdog stand so there is no place to make fries, I imagine. I think he sells burgers, chips, hotdogs and drinks only. The burgers are pretty big so I just had the burger and a drink. He makes it right when you order them so they are hot and fresh.

Where exactly is this place at? At went by there last night and couldnt find it. :(

mena
12-17-2003, 03:01 PM
I found the stand right pass the administration building in the same parking lot of a car garage. It is like on the curvy part of the road. The last time I went it had a red flashing light on top of the hotdog stand.
Did you go before 6:00pm? Oh, he doesn't open on rainy days either, incase it rained in EP.

Unfortunately I don't know about Meme's burgers but, these are just like the ones my Dad use to make for us (greasy and hot off the grill). I could sure eat one right about now. It is too bad I have to wait till next year to have one.

Thanx for the info mena, I'll know where to look next time.
eagle4, I remember the meme's burgers, they were mm, mm good. We used to live 2 blocks from the meme's on main. ja ja, of course I was a little kid back then. Whataburger has come the closest to the burgers meme's used to make. All they need is a little more grease, he he.

eagle4ever
12-18-2003, 08:31 AM
and the fried chicken was good too. yea whataburgers are magically delicious but the bun does need some grease. they always tend to be a little on the cold/dry side.
wow bluey.. i like u,.. we seem to be on the same era wave length ;)

My FAvorite burgers are the homestyle ones... I love Wendy's burger taste, yet the burgers could be bigger... I love Sonics, yet its missing something.. taste a lil too commercial for me... I love Whataburgers coz they are huge but I guess im used to McD's fries... Dairy queen's have a lil too much mustard for me...

RICKS i havent tried, but I wanna try ricks... from what yall are describing im sure Ricks is juicey and delicious.. mmmm, my mouth is watery!

:P

While I was down in EP I went by to Rick's burgers. I have been there too many times and I don't get tired of them burgers. They are the best............. If you haven't been there you should try them to see for yourself. Once you go you just want to keep going back.

Is there really a guy named Rick who owns Rick's Burgers and is the Rick whose name I see here the burger guy?

JorgedeTexas

I like Flamingos hamburgers, its almost like memes used to be. Its old fashion but big burgers that cost less than regular burger joints.

Eagletx21
04-17-2004, 01:38 PM
I agree flamingo's burgers are pretty good. They are also cheap and big compared to other fast food hambuger places.

When you say Meme's do you mean Meme's Klean Kitchen like where they serve fried chicken and stuff? :D

Thanks Rick for clearing out that you are the same Rick who has the burger business (not the burger guy) for people out there that had that curiousity.
Good luck in your business and cannot wait to have one of them burgers when I make my trip to EP again. They are the BEST BURGERS!!!!!!!!!

So have you met the burger guy?

I have not met The Burger Guy yet, but I will. (Hold the onions, Burger Guy!) ;)

Gloria
05-06-2004, 03:57 PM
Go ahead and meet Rick. I am glad that you feel that I am a manner patrol. I work in an environment where there are professionals with bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees. We have to be careful in what we say or how we say it. I just like to correct society once in a while.

eagle4ever
05-06-2004, 04:33 PM

His name is RICK The Burger Guy!

Hi, Rick!

I am not "society." I am RAPUNZEL!

05-07-2004, 02:30 AM
Gloria,

Rapunzel is right chill. I am not trying to defend anyone but you took her post as if it was directed to you. What is so wrong about calling the owner of Rick's Burgers the Burger Guy? I am sure we all call the pizza delivery person the Pizza guy.

Gloria just remember this is not work this is an online forum people in this place are not all tense and concern too much about how they write and post on this forum. I take online forums as a place to be relaxed and read what others have to say.

Peace Out.

eagle4ever
05-07-2004, 02:45 AM
HOW DOES "ANNOYING RAPUNZEL" SOUND???

Rapunzel
05-07-2004, 02:59 AM
That is fine. And I will try my best to live up to my name.

Seriously, though. To call someone annoying is saying something unkind. Calling someone the Burger Guy when he owns a hamburger restaurant is not rude or unkind. There is a show on TV called "Bill Nye the Science Guy." See? There is nothing wrong with calling someone "guy" and placing their specialty after their name. In fact, doing so can give them notoriety, which is helpful for a business.

For calling someone the Burger Guy to be insulting or rude, there would have to be something bad or shameful about burgers or guys. (I like both.)

If Rick himself asks me to stop calling him that, I might consider it. :P

Back to me. How about Ravishing Rapunzel? ;)

Eagletx21
05-07-2004, 03:05 AM
I didn't know we Eagle Pass folks where so sensitive when it came to calling people names.

For crying out loud the guy makes hamburgers put those two words together and we get Burger Guy.

Same for the cable people "Cable Guy" There is even a movie named like that.

Talk about being annoying Eagle4ever. :P

Well I am glad that everyone now is aware of Rick's Burgers. I hope you all tried at least one of them by now. They are the BEST!!!

And no you don't work with me. You probably work in EP while I work in San Antonio, alot of difference believe me. So you are the one who needs to watch it!

If you spot a policeman, yes you call him policeman because he is wearing his blues. If he is wearing his civilian clothes and not on duty, do you call him policeman or by his name?????????

Rick is an EaglePassOnline member and is posted as Rick.

Rapunzel
05-08-2004, 11:11 AM
Think carefully, Gloria. I have asked for information about Eagle Pass. Does that make you think I work here? I might work in San Antonio. I might work right there with you. You just never know. ;)

If I spot a policeman, I don't call her anything. If I saw an off-duty police officer and knew she was a police officer, I would still call her a police officer. I don't know what your point it. If I saw the Burger Guy and didn't know it was the Burger Guy, I don't think I'd call him the Burger Guy. But on this forum, he has identified himself, so I'm calling him the Burger Guy. :)

The Burger Guy seems like a nice guy. Why do you want to give him all this negative publicity my being mean to people who are talking about the delicious burgers at Rick's Burgers? I'll just bet you are working for the competition. That's mean.

Ramon, give us every detail. Do they use chopped lettuce or lettuce leafs? Sliced or chopped onions? Tell us everything.

Eagletx21
05-08-2004, 03:56 PM
Well it seems everyone enjoys eating the burgers from "Rick's Burgers"

Maybe the next time I go to EP I will try one.

When I go to Del Rio I always eat at this place called Salas Better Burgers they have some really great hamburgers and some big french fries. Has anyone ate there before at Salas Better Burgers? I am sure some of you all go to Del Rio once in a while like Del Rio Folks go to Eagle Pass every once in a while.

;)

Gloria

I figured you work in EP because back on Apr 16 you said, how late is late around here?" I did say probably. And NO you don't work with me. The oldest person is 55 yrs old.
One thing I don't understand is being a professional and still working at 80 yrs old.

Rick said back on Apr 24, "thanks for stopping by at rick's burgers". At no time has he identified himself as the "burger guy".

I am sure everybody else got the point. I guess that's why you are still WORKING.

Rapunzel
05-08-2004, 05:41 PM
I said "around here" because I was posting on an Eagle Pass forum. Besides, I could be in Eagle Pass and neither live nor work there. I see that concept is above your level of understanding. (See, I can be snotty, too.)

I had assumed that most people would understand that I am not really 80 years old. I was being silly.

Rick said back on Apr 24, "thanks for stopping by at rick's burgers". At no time has he identified himself as the "burger guy".

He seemed to be identifying himself as Rick of Rick's Burgers. I will keep calling him the Burger Guy, and I don't see how it is any of your concern.

I guess that's why you are still WORKING.

Although, I am not really 80 years old, I intend to continue working when I am. I like to work. I like what I do. You seem to think there is something wrong with working. Perhaps your job is menial and boring and you work because you must. That is not the case with me.

Thanks eagle4ever for getting the point right away. I will leave it at that.

I enjoyed my lunch at Luby's on Sunday. Luby's is okay once in a while. I heard Rick had a cookout that day. I wish I was there because he can really cook.

my favorite place aside from "Rick's Burgers" (cause that's his name........and because that's what he prefers to be called cause I see no other name like burger guy whenever he comes online) Anyway, I don't really have a favorite restuarant. I love Mom's and dad's cooking. ;)

Theres nothing like homecooking no doubt about that. My grandmother's cooking was the best for me. I say 'was' cuz shes way up there in age now and doesnt cook anymore :(
She made some mean flour torts and refried beans.(sighs) those were the good ole days
One of my fave things to eat in EP are the gizzards and chicken strips from Rodee's .

Rapunzel
05-11-2004, 05:52 PM
It doesn't make him morally superior. I was being sarcastic. But he made an issue out of the fact that he doesn't call Rick the Burger Guy. I got the impression that he thought that made him something special.

I can't get over the fact that a few people are getting all warped out of shape over what I call someone. If I had insulted Rick I would understand. But I have not. They don't even know that I am not good friends with Rick.

Those two (or is it three) just have a controlling attitude. Look at that guy suggesting that I ought to be banned. I have done nothing wrong.

Good idea. But I think something like this will happen again. I posted at a forum a couple of times a few years ago. There is always someone who tries to control what other people say. It became pointless to try to discuss anything. After a couple of weeks, I finally gave up and stopped posting. I guess I will have to do that here. What I really hate is that I think that they really want to drive people away.

If you are talking about Meme's Kleen Kitchen where they serve fried chicken. Then Yes it is still hitting it big in Del Rio. Not really with the Young Folks but the older people its definitely a hit. They have 2 locations in case you didn't know. Its all right sometimes the chicken is too greasy and sometimes it's not I guess it depends who is the cook.

Hi BC.

I haven't gone to that particular steakhouse. I will write it down on my "want to try" restaurant list. I always enjoy a good steak.

Nice restaurants are pretty pricey up here but, I will save my penny's and try it. I went to a restaurant called Ruth's Chris and their steak alone was close to $30. for like a 8 or 9 oz. and if you wanted a side dish like mac and cheese it was like $6.00 or more. Let just say the steak was not worth the price. :o

If you are ever in Corpus Christi, go to the City Diner and Oyster Bar on Water Street. Order the Greasy Burger.

The place is fantastic. It is decorated like something from the 50s or 60s and plays old music from back then.

They make delicious milk shakes, too.

I guess their specialty is oysters, but I don't eat seafood, so I can't tell you about that.

I've been to the Saltgrass in Dallas and it was ok but, I was not impressed. TXLC for me is the best so far, the steak just melts in your mouth. The plate cost over $12 but, by the time you are done, they have to roll you out of the restaurant. :)

The burgers from Luby's are pretty good. Yet they are somewhat expensive if I am not mistaking they start at $5.99 and I think the highest price for a burger that would be the double burger with cheese it will cost around $7.99. An yes it includes French fries and the drink. It's a pretty good burger and the French fries are also pretty good.

Is it of value to others? sumarize your stuff for others to understand.

sifuzhenz,

Jeninaustin is talking about when a Member known as Eagle4ever outed her. Eagle4ever posted Jeninaustin name on the Forum and posted some other personal stuff about her. By the time Forum Administration went into action to remove the stuff Eagle4ever posted it was a bit to late. All of the regulars on this site had already read the information.

Then Jeninaustin responds to my post when I told her she made the mistake about admitting she was the person Eagle4ever posted on this Forum. Out of frustration Jeninaustin made that comment.

You and your little elves try monitor my way of talking (which is not rude or vulgar) and YOU call ME disruptive?

You need to go back and read. I was simply posting and not saying anything mean. Then you came along and started calling me and others names and tried to tell me how to post.
But that's okay, of course, because you are the favorites. The rest of us have to be polite.
