I'm from EP and surf the web alot. I just happen to run into this site accidently. Never heard of it before today. Maybe it would be a good idea to post the link on the local papers. I dont know if they would charge or not but hey, its all for the good and fun of the community.

just a thought.

[b]I had no idea this site existed until I was sitting in my BCIS class (like I am right now) and a friend of mine mentioned it. I think it's awesome and yeah I suggest you find some way to tell people about this site.

We have been advertising on the net and we plan to advertise locally, but it works best by word of mouth. Don't forget to pass the word.
Suggestions...I meant how we can improve the site to get more people to participate.

Thanks

I volunteered to help the Brown Pride Riders Car Club with their website about 3 weeks ago. They had it for two years and generated 5 guest book postings. To generate more traffic, I went to many of the lowrider websites, tejano artists, music sites, etc. and signed their guestbook. Most of the guest books ask for you email and your URL when you post on them. So far it has worked. It has generate over 500 hits in the 3 weeks. Of course the site has a limited audience appeal. Your site should get more interest and would reach every ex-resident or resident of E.P. that happens on to sign the same guest book.

This forum is pretty slow. Does you all Wal-Mart have a community board in the front of its store? If so someone can print out a page that reads something like Eaglepassonline.com Online forum and then post it on the board. Then everyone who looks at the board can see it. Trust me you will get people in this forum in no time. ;)

P.S. New to the forum.

Did anyone find out about the community board at your local Wal-Mart? :)

I don't live in EP so I couldn't answer that. I know they have them in some Texas cities.

Um....im probably gonna get banned for this but....... WHY THE **** DO WE HAVE TO WAIT TILL YOU PEOPLE GIVE US PERMISSION TO POST!?! MAYBE the reason why only like 6 people post and the forums are so slow is because when someone signs up THEY CANT POST ****! im a member of 2 other forums and they let us post like a second after we sign up.....yep..... if your gonna ban me then dont IP ban me because im tired of finding a new IP that isnt slower than dial-up......Thank You........

hey Cyber person,

Well, this site is cool. I like it only because it gives me the feeling I am communicating with someone from South Texas. This is so cool.

But I don't want to be reading about some drunks idea of how to get across the bridge,
or why the Eagles don't win,
when that particular individual "member" trying to make a contribution, does not even have a clue or know what is happening and in fact is a little deprived in culture, education and etiquette. It can be tough when a particular individual barely got through high school and is happy go lucky working at the nearest Radio Shack, with a free computer he got for working there, and now feels he/she can just "talk" or rattle their mouth off about anything to anyone.....

so I have to say, this site is just too broad. It needs to be narrowed or closed to some individuals.....

I mean, anyone can come on and write whatever they want. Whatever they think.

While this is cool, because we do live in a free country and all that stuff, it can also be negative.

For example, if one wants to follow a certain, Particular "idea" or "topic" or "simple thought" that was introduced by someone, anyone, and one wants to write about it and follow it to the fullest, it can be problematic if some fool, starts to act negative and respond in a very negative manner.

There is always someone who comes in thinking they know what is happening and they mess it up, changing the thought and all, cause they don't know what the heck is going on....

If you have checked out other pages and chat links, you will see that some people will not think at all. they write like they were talking to their middle school friend in the hood. they talk very vulgar and then all of a sudden, you get other people who start writing the same way. It ruins the whole thing. If this is what you want...open it up to more middle school kids and this is what will happen....sex....rap......vulgarity....stipidiy.....fun stuff ....but for kids......

right now you get people at different reading and comprehention levels. You get people with different needs. You get people from different economic levels. You might get kids. You might get high school students. You might get "hard hats". You might get college students. (Yes, some lonely guy or gal attending college far away from home.)

I mean, It can get pretty nasty. because everyone want to be heard...

I could respond the same way. put someone down. use vulgar language, etc. etc. But what good is that gonna do to the topic at hand? some people cannot not see that.

am I making myself clear. I think I am being very wordy. The question is "how to imporve this website. Obviously professional people are not gonna respond to this stuff. I mean, my doctor or lawyer will not get interested on this stuff.....

Maybe you might have to ask for certain credentials?????
You might have to charge a fee for other people to come on in, that way eliminating the small minds that might not feel it's important enough to Pay to participate.

And you might just have to censor those individuals who don't make sense at all. they are just fools trying to be cool, and they really don't know how to carry on a conversation much less think and type at the same time about some important subject.....

Forgive me.....I am just trying to give you my ideas on what to think about when trying to improve this site.

It is so cool to have you. Especially for our service men, far away from home. You cannot imagine what this would mean to them.

Then it is also neat For people who moved to Alaska or some other strange place. This is a home away from home for them....

Peace love and happiness.

Hey sweetheart,

I read some of this stuff and I can see what you have been going through.

And you have persevered. You are a terrific person. You are the coolest to be able to deal with some of these people who have no clue as to what they want or what they need or why they are even writing on this EPO.

You are the coolest person in this venue....I praise you and thank you for being thee for me...

I am miles and miles away from Ealge Pass and South Texas. I long to speak to someone from there. This is terrific. But If there are bozos and little people that ruin what you're trying to do....it doesn't help any of us. But that's what you get when small minds start feeling the benefits of living in a free country and now, a free EPO. what can you expect?

How many of these same people would sign up if they had to pay $15. a month or more. They are fools.

Thank you Mena, who ever you are. I appreciae you and wish you luck...

And if they write in foolish ways.....delete them or don't even respond....

Peace be with you....dude or dudette

Thanks for your kind words, sifuzhenz.

This forum was originated so that any person that has ties to EP in anyway can communicate no matter where they live.
I don't think we would eliminate rude people if we have a membership fee because they come from all economic backgrounds and educational levels. It all sums up to whether they were taught to respect or not and money can't buy that.

..and again thanks for the kind words.
