View Full Version : Bike Riding Club
My adopted town has a bike riding club where people meet at a place and ride a certain distance. Some weekends they ride for miles other times they ride for blocks. Is there anything like this in EP?

I do not think we have one here, for I have never heard anyone talking about it. I would love to participate in one if it existed but would be afraid of harrassment frankly.

I have a friend that rides his motorcylce with a group of people sometimes they ride to Bracketville I think they have a hang out place over there for bikers. I'll try to get some info from him soon.
Also the Gypsy CLub is another motorcycle club here in town they raise money for charities. They're usually riding around wearing gold - colored vests.
One member is Mr. Skip Edwards an art teacher I don't know if he still works for EPISD

I like to live life in the slow lane. Are we talking about a bicycle or motorcycle club?

I was talking about a bicycle group I have been part of in the past. Driving is not my forte. I prefer my slooow two wheeler.

A bike club would be a great idea. Even though we have little (if any) scenic routes, it would be fun to ride with a group. And this is the perfect weather for it.
My husband and I go on bike rides when he is not too busy with work. It is so relaxing. We bought a $100. trailer that attaches to the bike and we take our daughter in it. She has a blast and of course the best seat.

Of course she has the best seat no peddling. As long as she doesn't carry a whip you'll be just fine.
We've been lucky she doesn't have one. ha,ha...

Motorcylcles are just coffins with wheels. It doesn't matter how careful you are. Although it is an enjoyable ride. I rather ride a bike and stop for breaks every two inches ha,ha....

About 8 years ago my sister introduced me to Mr. Rhodes in Eagle Pass. He sold insurance, anyway, he lived just outside Eagle Pass on a ranch and had about 7 miles of single track and rough roads on the property. They were ok for mountain biking. We went out to ride with him a few times. He was in his late 50s or early 60s, but he could out ride me. I took my mountain bike to Eagle Pass and rode down by the riverwalk or arroyo walk. It was a good technical area to ride.
I just recently bought another road bike and am fixing to start riding on the streets again.
If any of your are into off road riding and end up in Waco, we have Cameron Park with about 14 miles of single track. The bottom trail is good for beginners and the rest of the trails are for sport or expert riders.

I don't know if the site will let me remote link the picture to this page, but it's a nice picture of my son. We took the picture in Big Bend National Park. We went biking there during spring break.

If you want a nice picture of a mountain bike rider go to the site above and I have a picture of my son just before he wiped out. The picture is about 3 years old and it was taken in Cameron Park. The wallpaper is free and set up in two sizes. Stop by and look at the rest of the wall paper and feel to download it if you like it.
Maybe if someone posts a date when there will be a bike ride some where near Eagle Pass we can make it a meeting point and ride together. Waco has the Wild West Century ride and the 50 mile ride goes to the M&M Mars candy plant. They always give away candy to replace all the calories you lose during the bike ride. They have a 10, 25, 50, 62 and 100 mile rides. That ride is in Sept. or Oct. every year.
