One thing about EP that I always thought was there were no good Chinese restaurants. Well I was corrected there is one place that actually hade good food and kick ass service. Jade restaurant I went there last night with my parents. And we all ended up taking have the meal with us. What’s even cooler is that this is a mom and pop shop so you can expect that kind of service.

If anyone goes thru Hondo, try out the chinese restaurant on Hwy 90. I think it's called China Dragon. I use to go there atleast ones a week. Now, their food (happy family) was to die for. Keep in mind I haven't been there in almost 5 years but, they are still open for business. :)

alacran62, is there one you like in EP?

Try Las Palmas by Piedras Negras Tortillas, or I tried a resturuant by Eidson Rd, forgot the name its before you get to the store on the right, just past the school district admin offices, its on the left. Both are small whole in the wall type of places. If you are a good catholic and don't eat meat on Friday try Las Palmas, last year I tried it, it good food buffet style for lunch get there early it gets packed for small place. If you like tacos colorados try the store resturan in front of Texas in las minas by an old car wash and tire shop. Try also the resturaunt at the mall charcol grill. In Piedras Negras, you have el Pique, Mario Resturuant, Rancho Steak house, La Casona, and there is a small buffet place of the Avenida which is attached to a chinese resturuant.

Hello,

RE: restaurants, I prefer the ones in Piedras Negras. I do not like Moderno since they sold the restaurant. The service is not as good and the food was nothing to brag about the last time I went. I LOVE :) :) :) Los Castores. I have not been to Piedras since last October and would like to know if Asadero Grill is still open and if so, what is the address.

Thanks!

Is the Asedero the one close to La Villita. You take Avenida Carranza out of town towards Sorriana Store, you follow the curve left, past the hospital seguro social , its about within half mile from the hospital on the left side.

I am not thrilled with the Charcoal Grill. There service stunk the few times I've been there and I am not shy about leaving a nice tip.

Go to Maria's in Sonora. I only had nachos, but I'd drive there again just for those nachos.

I don't know Nacho Guy's name.

(I got confused and posted this in Burger Guy's topic.)

The Applebees in Eagle Pass has had bad service the few times I have been there. A friend of mine was working there when I went. She wasn't even my waitress, and she helped us more than our own waitress. Our waitress was rude and didn't want to do a thing, not even help clean the water she spilled at our table! She expected a guy friend of mine to do it! What kind of service is that! The food isn't that great either! We need a Chili's!

Next time you go, ask the hostess to sit you in the section that your favorite waitress or waiter is attending. We have done this and it works. The places that we now frequent the most the waitress or waiter comes over and sits us over in their section. We like the friendly service we receive and they like the tips we leave. :)

From what I hear Rudy's is a good place to eat. Don't remember exactly what town it's in I just know that if you travel north on I 35 you'll see the sign for it on your right. I think it's between New Braunfels and Schertz

yea, that's good one. We have one here locally. I wonder if there are any more out there that are not too familiar with the crowd. You know of any more?

Lockhart, tx has some real good BBQ. it's a small town about 25 miles from austin traveling south on 183. there's black's bbq and chisolm trail. i highly recommend the drive out there. And there's always Kruetz (i think that's how it's spelled) and Smitty's which is more famous for it's sausage.

I have travled to Salt Lake City UT and Las Vegas on business trips. I have yet to find a good Mexican restaurant. I did find a person that sold Tamales. I was totally floored by the price 13.50 a dozen.
