I have added a new category named "Member Suggested Forums".. BlueCollar suggested a Computer help section which I added..
How bout the rest of you? What other forum categories would you like to see?
I tried adding a bunch of new sections one time before and nobody used them so.. I figure this time I will ask all of the members for suggestions..
I would prefer to keep the categories Eagle Pass/Peidra specific but I will listen to all suggestions.
What do you think? Do we have enough already? Leave well enough alone?
Let me hear your feedback..

I suggest you go through some of the user preferences to make sure they're all working, such as messaging, e-mailing, etc... for example, I noticed people can't upload their own personal ava. The only reason I got mine to work was because its being file hosted off of some webspace that I have. You should really look into that.

Actually, I only want to allow personal avatars that are hosted elsewhere. We may change this later.
Thanks for the info though.

may I ask why? I don't really see the harm in it... or is this a file-space issue?

Just a decision that was made at one time. It means that the additional bandwidth required to load the avitars are provided by a server other than ours. Since we do not make money currently and actually spend money to keep this site up and running, we make certain decisions with that in mind.

How about forums for:
1. Rooms for rent
2. Roomates/Housemates wanted
I am thinking about moving to EP for a job but really only want to rent a room so I can keep my home elsewhere (I can't afford to pay a mortgage + an apartment there). Anyhow, I haven't found a list of 'rooms for rent' anywhere!!!! Surely out of 25,000 people someone wants to rent a room or would like to share a place/expenses.
Thanks,
Terri

I also had a question concerning the signatures....why cant we use a server such as photobucket.com to place the signature of our choice.....i think the text signatures are sort of plain....... ;)

i would like to see pictures of people from ep sometimes just to see who were talking to and it would probably be people just like me who want to see faces and who ever doesn't want to doesn't have to .

I know a really great idea to get the Eagle Passan's attention of EPOnline. Try contacting one of the local newspapers such as the News Gram, News Guide, or the Business Journal, and get them to write an article talking about EPOnline, a place where Eagle Passans can voice their opinions without fear of reprisal.
You think they will go for it? I don't know them.

How about posting a tab where some people can donate money to keep this forum running. Like donating through their own paypal accounts or other sources. I personally would't mind donating to this site. I think that would be a great idea.

I think the Business Journal would definately do it. Maybe even the other two. You can contact the News Gram on the website at www.thenewsgramonline.com and just email them with the idea.
And Mr. Mcbeath runs the Guide and the Business Journal is run by the Mr. Calderon, an attorney. I'm not sure how you can contact those people.

so, did the EP Online owners ever make contact with the local newspapers about doing a story on EPO?
They have been swamped with work so I don't think so.

Just visited their webpage(v bulletin). I didn't realize there were so many v bulletin boards out there, used by many businesses and communities in general. And that you can lease or buy the software. I did notice a thread on "General Rules." Maybe we need it here. My usage of adult words were an attempt to humor, much like a stand up comic uses them. I'm not a vulgar person in front of strangers, much less my mom. But we both know humor. So maybe a GENERAL RULES thread is needed.

We used to have the general rules posted but when we changed software they got lost.
This is one of the things we will be putting in place soon.

Would including the city of Houston be out of the question as a category in the list of surrounding communities that you have?

Evie I know you have a life to tend to. Ain't you a teach? A girl w/brains always has the dogs barking around. Me, I think I'm addicted to this website. I stay away at times. But if your like me and check e-mails or paybills, I'm on here everyday. Just an extra site I have to visit. It has been informative and fun. I second a houston section.

I know not all men are dogs. But I also believe that all dogs, I mean men,;) deserve a chance to prove themselves before being judged. No matter what they look like or where they're from, even if they are like HD, verdad eagle4ever???
And as for my split, oh well, another lesson in life!!!;)
That's the spirit, Evie. Your last one was a stepping stone closer to a better one.

Hey, just thought I would join you guys. HOUSTON is something like the third lasrgest city in the USA. I guess we could learn something from there. It's totally different isn't it? I mean compared to Maverick County and such. But It would be cool. At least they got Mike Jones and high schools with athletes such as Vince Young.
But I do know there are many people from E.P. who live and work there. I have friends and cousins there. Anyway, I guess it wold be possible to include Houston in the list of surrounding communities. Why not? It's all part of Texas.

Why was The Valley added? You might as well add El Paso and Amarillo. Maybe even Odessa? Or maybe you could've just left the Title open...."Surrounding Communities" and not Rio Grande Valley. But it's good that you are thinking of all of TEXAS.

The Valley was not added, a member just posted a topic entitled "Rio Grande Valley".
I reworked the categories and broke them up into two sections, surrounding areas and People from EP living in other places (http://www.eaglepassonline.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=46)
I think this makes more sense and hope you all like it.

Where are the Colleges and/or Universities closest to Eagle Pass?
I know there is one in Uvalde, right? San Antonio must have a grip! Any others around? Also, I understand some of these have extension programs in Eagle Pass.

Dude, someone should teach you that there's a reason forums are broken down into topic sections and that posts should be placed in the relevant section, not in just random places. Posting just whereever makes it harder for people to find relevant posts.;)

OK, I've posted some pretty ridiculous stuff so that we can get a conversation started. While I would love to comment on who's doing what, where, when, how and who in Eagle Pass, I can't! I don't live in Eagle Pass but if the locals start posting, then I will know everything about people I don't even know. How's that?
Oh so now we can post who is doing who, where, what, when and why?;)
